Apprentice Christian Care (ACC)

Purpose

The Apprentice Christian Care category is designed for individuals who are just beginning their journey in pastoral and faith-based care. This is the true entry point for those who feel called to serve but have not yet acquired formal training or experience. Apprentices provide basic spiritual support through prayer, encouragement, and compassionate listening, always under direct pastoral supervision.

This level focuses on cultivating character, deepening biblical understanding, and developing essential skills needed to grow toward Lay Pastoral Counseling and beyond. It serves as a training ground for future leaders in Christian care.


Requirements

  • Active Church membership in good standing.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian service and willingness to learn.

  • Participation in a CACCP orientation and foundational training session.

  • Endorsement or letter of recommendation from a pastor or ministry leader.

  • Agreement with CACCP’s Code of Ethics and Statements of Faith.


Responsibilities

  • Provide basic spiritual support such as prayer, encouragement, and Scripture-based counsel.

  • Assist in church or community care ministries under supervision.

  • Observe and learn from senior counselors or pastors in practical settings.

  • Commit to ongoing personal discipleship and biblical study.

Cost

  • Application & Membership fees: $75

  • Certification fee: $50 (annual)
