ABOUT CACCP

Who We Are

The Canadian Association of Christian Counselors Professionals (CACCP) is a self-regulated faith-based organization dedicated to equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, training, and spiritual foundation needed to provide effective Christian counseling. We are a certifying body that ensures counselors working within the church or faith-based communities meet high professional, ethical, and spiritual standards while integrating Christian principles into their practice.

Our organization serves as a trusted resource for pastors, churches, and counselors who aim to offer guidance, healing, and hope rooted in biblical truth. We believe in the transformative power of counseling when it is grounded in the teachings of Christ and delivered with professional excellence.

CACCP CERTIFICATION

Why We Exist

The growing need for emotional and spiritual healing has made counseling an essential ministry within the church. While secular organizations provide certifications for mental health professionals, the church often lacks structured pathways to equip its members with counseling skills that align with Christian values.

CACCP exists to:

  • Equip the Church: Train church members, pastors, and leaders in counseling that is biblically grounded and clinically informed, enabling them to minister effectively to those in need.
  • Provide Professional Standards: Establish ethical and professional standards for Christian counselors, ensuring the highest level of care.
  • Promote Faith-Based Counseling: Create a trusted certifying body that acknowledges and celebrates the unique approach of Christian counseling, distinct from secular methodologies.

Certification Process and Standards

The CACCP Certification Program includes a combination of theological, psychological, and counseling courses, as well as supervised practicums. This ensures counselors are equipped to provide holistic care that addresses emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.

Level One: Lay Christian Counselor (LCC)

This level is for individuals who feel a calling to serve their community through faith-based, non-professional counseling.

Level Two: Pastoral Care Counselor (PCC)

Associate Pastoral Counselors bridge the gap between lay ministry and professional counseling.

Level Three: Certified Associate Christian Counselor (CACC)

Certified Pastoral Counselors are recognized professionals who integrate biblical principles with evidence-based counseling techniques.

Level Four: Certified Clinical Christian Counselor (CCCC)

This level is for experienced counselors integrating clinical expertise with Christian principles.

Level Five: Fellow of Christian Counseling (FCC)

FCC is the highest certification level, reserved for distinguished professionals who have significantly contributed to Christian counseling.

Mental Health Support Anytime, Anywhere

CACCP is more than a certifying body; it’s a movement to empower churches to become centers of healing, equipping counselors to serve with excellence and Christ-centered compassion. Together, we can transform lives and communities, one conversation at a time.
